‘IF’ CONDITIONAL

TYPE 1 = FUTURE CONDITIONALSENTENCE

àmengandaikan perbuatan yang mungkin terjadi di masa yang akan datang.

If + simple present tense , present future tense.

Example : If I have much money, I will buy a new car.

(Jika saya mempunyai banyak uang, saya akan membeli sebuah mobil baru.)

Fact: It is possible to me buying new car if I have much money.

TYPE 2 = PRESENT CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

è Mengandaikan perbuatan yang berlawanan dengan kenyataan sekarang karena syarat-syaratnya tidak terpenuhi.

If + simple past tense, past future tense.

Example: If I studied hard, I would pass the examination.

(Jika saya rajin belajar, saya akan lulus ujian.)

Fact : I do not pass the examination because I do not study hard.

TYPE 3 = PAST CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

è Mengandaikan perbuatan yang berlawanan di masa lampau. Perbuatan yang tidak mungkin terjadi di masa lampau.

If + past perfect tense, past future perfect tense.

Example: If Cristiano Ronaldo had visited Cirebon, I would have met him.

(Jika Cristiano Ronaldo pernah mengunjungi Cirebon, saya sudah bertemu  dengannya.)

Fact : I did not meet Cristiano Ronaldo because he did not visit Cirebon.
